1996 Rover Mini Cooper 35th Anniversary limited edition 35 and 1 of around 200 UK cars ever made. This example has always been garaged and very well cared for. The porcelain leather interior is close to new and the walnut door cappings and dashboard are immaculate after 28 years. The interior radio and window openers have been changed along with the door mirrors, gear stick knob and foot pedals, however the originals have been retained if the new owner prefers to return to the original condition. It drives wonderfully as it has only covered 38103 miles from new and has been very well cared for. To my eye it looks to have a lot of its original almond green paintwork. I have the original book pack, set of keys, the original build book let and sales invoice plus a nice history file from new. It will also come with 6 months MOT.This is a very rare and special mini which is in lovely condition. It is as honest and original as they come and will make its new owner very proud.
In 1996 Rover created the 35th Anniversary edition as a homage to the long-established working partnership with John Cooper, that arguably made the Mini great. The 35th Anniversary edition was to be a limited-edition production run with one off colour combination and interior spec with a single point fuel injection 1.3L engine. By this time Rover had moved away from producing cars with 10” wheels so 12” Gunmetal grey centre Minilites were chosen.
Around 1700 of this Limited-Edition Mini were made with the vast majority of them going over to Japan where the demand at the time was vastly greater than over in the UK. Only around 200 were sold in the UK meaning that seeing one on the roads is a very rare thing. The 12” black Minilite wheels are also in fantastic condition with no curbing, lacquer peel or scuffing to be seen and with the addition of good quality tyres . The front tyres have plenty of tread left. and the rears are new. All electrics work around the car, this includes the spotlights, indicators, and wipers, Condition of the chrome work around the car is great too and the fit and finish of the panels is remarkable for a car that sometimes had issues with finish quality. It does have a couple marks on it from storage but an all round a beautiful example of a 28-year-old classic.
Only reason I am selling is that I just simply don’t have time to use it anymore and it’s just sitting around gathering dust so I’d rather it go to someone who will enjoy it.
